How many of your prints were stolen from your web site just this month? They are hanging, in frames, on walls in peoples homes, being sold at malls and used as postcards on electronic greeting sites. As soon as you put your images on the Internet, you gave them away. Stop theft and start making money now.
If your product is good, your prices are reasonable and if the web surfer can't get your image any other way, they will pay you for your prints.
If someone wants to make a print of your art they should ASK: "How much for that image on your web site?" With ArtSafeKeeper it costs less to secure your work than you can make from one lost sale. Scroll down for some of the highlights of how we protect your work and think about how much is one sale worth to you.
Who can use ArtSafeKeeper? Art Gallery Web Sites, Newspapers, Architects, handlers of sensitive information.. anyone who has an image they want to protect for copyright or other reasons.
Making that possible is what we, the folks at ArtSafeKeeper, are all about. Whether it is a print of a photograph, painting, sculptured art, architectural renderings or electronic concept creations, you want to show the world how good your works are without the fear of people taking your work. Well, fear not. ArtSafeKeeper (ASK) is here.
You should invite your website visitor to see your images in their full size. I have seen that many artists have been only offering postcard size versions of their art. These "little" images are less likely to impress people enough to buy your stuff. A larger image, with detail, helps you sell your art.
Put a full screen image of your work on the Internet and let visitors see how good you are, without the fear of anyone being able to easily Copy, Print or Save the image of your work.
What about Image Capture Programs? There are computer programs on the market, such as SnagIt and HyperSnap, that allow people to get around most image protection schemes. ASK, does not allow that. It will terminate the window that is showing your image as soon as the visitor tries to execute these programs. We don't anticipate any new programs appearing that will thwart out protection because all we do is erase the window you were looking at (the popup with your print) from the moment they try to launch any other program.
If you have questions, just ASK me.
Speed considerations: When you enter our Sample Gallery you may notice that the images load as slow on subsequent visits as they did on your first visit. Let me explain. When you visit a web site, all of the images on that site are stored on your computer in what is called the cache - a local copy of every web site you visit. The next time you pull up the same page your browser checks to see if you have a copy of that image on your computer, in the browsers cache. If you do, then the browser pulls the image from your cache and your browsing experience is enhanced because it appears you are traveling the web much faster than before.
The problem with the cache is this. A person can go to the Tools - Internet Options menu on their browser and copy any image from their cache. So, no matter how many roadblocks we put up for the casual user (blocking Right-Click, etc) the advanced user can get around it by querying the cache.
If you use the advanced features of ASK you have added protection, because we run a UNIX / PERL program that prevents your images from ever being written to the visitors' computers. As said before, the drawback is that the image does not 'snap' to attention on subsequent hits for the user. But the benefit is they can't steal your images from their cache. Every time they want to see your image it is loaded from your web site.
