Dr. Robert Conte

Dr. Robert S. Conte is the Resident Historian at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV.  He has served on the West Virginia Humanities Council, the West Virginia Archives and History Commission and serves on the board of the Monroe County Historical Society.

 

Dr. Conte is author of the book, The History of the Greenbrier: America’s Resort, and is frequently interviewed on the resort’s history for documentaries such as The Secret Bunker, produced by The History Channel.

 

 

 

Conte recently portrayed the sage editor of the last handset newspaper in America, The Pocahontas Times, in the Patchwork Films stage and film production of the one-man play, An Evening with Cal Price.  He reenacts the role of Calvin W. Price in the feature documentary, “30 – Cal Price and The Pocahontas Times.”
